Summer 2013
CEP 810: Teaching Understanding with Technology - Melissa White
I completed CEP 810 as the first in succession of the MAET program. The focus was on personal goal setting for my MAET program. This class also began exposure to new learning technology and highlighted the ways technology can intertwine with aspects of life and education.
CEP 811: Adapting Innovative Technology to Education - Missy McCarthy and Bill Marsland
This class focused on the Maker movement (MakeyMakey kit), creativity within that and designing a blog ( I chose Wordpress) and using it as a communication tool for education. We looked at lesson plans involving aspects of technology to ensure students are getting the most from the lesson. We used Mozilla Popcorn, Sound Cloud, Creative Commons, Sketch Up Make and more.
Fall 2013
CEP 812: Applying Educational Technology to Practice - Colin Gallagher
The major focus of this course had two pieces... a Wicked Problem and the Flipped PD. The aspects were studied, discussed and applied personally through project work individually and in a group.
CEP 818: Creativity in Teaching and Learning - Dr. Punya Mishra and Jon Good
This course was an incredibly reflective course, based on human perception and learning. Throughout this course I applied perception and learning to the classroom, life in general and technology.
Spring 2014
CEP 800: Learning in School and Other Settings - Danah Henrikson and Liz Owens Boltz
CEP 800 was about interpreting information and understanding. The class assigned projects to shed light on how diverse understanding and learning can be from person to person. The assignments also integrated different aspects of technology to highlight this.
CEP 820: Teaching Students Online - Spencer Greenhalgh and Anne Heintz
This course focused on design of an online or hybrid course for a K12 student. By discussing and exploring various course management systems, I went with a Weebly course format for creating a hybrid course unit for my actual Kindergarten students. My final product was a web math unit I used with students at school that they could extend at home.
Summer 2014
CEP 815: Technology and Leadership - Ben Gleason
This course looked at leadership styles in education and technology, but also in genreal. The course helped identify the positives and negatives different types of leaders have. I then integrated the coursework through a Prezi and a Personal Manifesto Assignment to conclude the course.
CEP 822: Approaches to Educational Research - Dr. David Wong and Tatyana Li
This course focused the different ways to gather and compare sets of data. Using different survey tools, data was collected to demonstrate an understanding of how to collect information and some of the ways that results and responses may be represented. Data analysis and computation was a large portion of the coursework.
Fall 2014
CEP 816: Teaching and Learning Across Curriculum - Paul Morsink
This course involves work with screencasting and information processing as it relates to cognition. The working and long term memory in relation to lesson presentation is all linked together thorough study, discussion and project based learning.
CEP 807: Capstone Course Educational Technology - Dr. Matt Koehler, Spencer Greenhalgh, Sarah Keenan and Brittany Dillman
The final course, or Capstone in the MAET program is primarily the development of my final portfolio or body of work. I chose to create a Weebly site.
